'Business was born into my bones but my dyslexia diagnosis made it all make sense.'

I grew up in a family business, playing offices as pretend, spending summer holidays as comical free labor with them. It shaped my work ethic.

But, being diagnosed with dyslexia was a big turning point that made things make sense. Why I am the way I am, why I think differently.

I wasn’t interested in the usual track of continued education. I went straight into the workforce and by 25, was leading 80 people, being helicoptered in to fix problems.

I found out I was really good at looking after people and enjoyed it.

After becoming a mum, I imagined a work life balance that didn’t happen.

And despite having the big house, land, range rover, designer clothes, 2 kids and a high powered career, I'd lost my spark and didn’t know why or what to do as my identity crumbled.

I realized I couldn’t self-sacrifice so much anymore. Personal development and spirituality on sabbatical awakened a sustainable way of leadership inside myself.

It reminded me why being in a position to creatively preserve a company culture that centered people and the heart of why we did what we did was so fulfilling.

I cannot get away from the fact that I love leadership. It's where I feel my full self come online.

There’s this assumption and myth you have to lose your soul to grow and be cut throat. It’s not true. You can do it differently.

I know I’m really good at giving practical tools - not just theory. The person to help leaders see the bigger picture, stand on the bridge and bring perspective to those in the thick of it. To pause the spiraling and give direction on where to go.

“With a dynamic approach and a touch of genius sparkle, Katie’s input on our employee wellbeing initiative was exceptional. From the initial brief to immersing herself in our team culture, she provided inspired, actionable ideas that reflected our values. Her passion for people is infectious.”
